Conquer Mood Swings!

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Life is filled with ups and downs, so nobody expects us to have a megawatt smile on our faces all the time.

Nevertheless, we must fight against the trap of slipping in and out of different frames of mind; cheerful one moment and withdrawn the very next.

Mood swings are dangerous. At first, the other party in the relationship becomes concerned and jumps into the role of doting comforter and counsellor. However, when it becomes increasingly frequent, they become saddened and confused.

Frustration sets in, followed hotly by annoyance and eventually resignation. Communication and trust is lost. The relationship, of whichever sort, suffers a major blow. Most times, the damage is irreversible.

Everyone is susceptible to this. The key to conquering moodswings is to take the matter to God in prayers. Surround yourself with His Word and obey what He says. Engage in positive activities that keep your mind off challenges. Honor that other party by being sensitive and committed to them as well.

Your relationships will surely flourish to God’s glory.

PRAYER

Precious Holy Spirit, today, I ask that you flood my heart with an overflowing joy that knows no bound, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
